Great Facebook Idea: Photo In Lieu of Link

We all know EdgeRank favors photos over outside links. If you don't know this, well... I could say something condescending and rude, but this website is a community that embraces everyone, even social media managers that don't know the basics about EdgeRank. (Bite the tongue, bite the tongue, and... continue.)

I have no idea what those colorful worms mean. Absolutely no idea.

So many times, it's the little bit of extra effort that makes a good post a great post. So props to MIT for not just pasting the link, but taking the extra minute to save the image from the article and featuring it. The link is still included in the main post (when I do this, I often paste the link in full once more in the comments directly after posting), but the image is what does the heavy lifting.

I can absolutely guarantee you that this post generated exponentially more engagement because it was posted as a photo rather than a link. Thanks, MIT, for the good reminder that a little effort can go a long way.
